My wife and I walked Bethpage yesterday for a practice round.  It was the 7th time I’ve walked it, first time for her.  Her comment was, “how can you walk up these hills with golf clubs?”.  It was long.  With all the rain today, it will be longer.  It’s looking great.  What is wonderful is that the cource looks like that normally.  My buddy Ray was certain that this wasn’t golf.  My take is, it is golf, and I’m glad I’m not playing it.  Of course, if the club championship was in a deluge, I would tee it up until they told me to stop.  I’m sure that these guys are mentally tougher, and this is just another element to differentiate the eventual champion.  You have to earn it.  The fans there are great.  It takes great dedication to walk around outside in the rain, especially if you aren’t playing.  Kudos to them.
