Golf Leagues: A great excuse to play some competitive and social golf

12 June 2009 No Comment

I just got done subbing in the Thursday Night League at my club.  Now, my schedule and profession doesn’t allow for a consistent enough commitment to join the league myself, but I love subbing and being part of it that way.  I recommend joining or being part of one if you can, preferably with people that you like or find interesting.  Yesterday’s match was with 3 great guys from my club.  We had a great match, which ended up in a draw.  2+ hours of great conversation, trash talking, and good golf, even in a downpour.  Great - started pouring on the 6th hole.  It was a good thing that I brought my umbrella.  Of course, no one else did.  Found out that 4 grown men can fit under an umbrella.  Awesome.  It poured for the next 3 holes.  I happened to play well, mostly because I was focues on staying dry and spending as little time as possible away from the umbrella.  Strange how that works.  Long story short, we play, we got soaked, and the match ended in a draw.  What a great way to spend a late afternoon.
